Roy Halston Frowick's first moment of fashion fame arrived when he designed the pillbox hat Jackie Kennedy wore for the 1961 presidential inauguration. Earlier in his career, Halston held stints at Bergdorf Goodman and milliner Lilly Dache, but it wasn't until the '70s, after launching his namesake label in 1968, that he became the trendsetting designer for jet set celebrities and socialites associated with Studio 54.
